Visionary / Historical Powhatan
Lummie Jones, Broker at Napier ERA Real Estate

Lummie Jones coined the phrase “Outstanding In Her Field” back in the early 1980’s when she began selling real estate in Powhatan County , which at the time had lots of fields. The first sale she can still remember…a one acre lot for $5,000! Since that time, Lummie has earned many sales awards for helping families find the perfect home for their families, as well as helping sellers get their homes sold. Living in Powhatan since 1977, Lummie has participated in several community endeavors including helped to establish the Elizabeth Randolph Lewis YMCA. She serves on Professional Standards for the Richmond Association of Realtors and was named “TOP 10 Selling Brokers for ERA Nationally” and is one of the owners of Napier Realtors ERA. “I love what I do” said Lummie, “helping families to realize their real estate dreams, whatever they are, and I am so grateful that I can do this.” Lummie Jones is truly a visionary of Powhatan County. www.lummiejones.com (804) 598-7700

All Things Powhatan

A New Way to Make Ice Cream
Photographs taken by Jack Mullikin.

The night before, I had a dream
Of a new way to make ice cream.
I chose a night when water froze
And people had a running nose.
I gave my cow sugar with the hay
And some flavoring that same day.
The next morning I looked out
and there she stood froze
From head to feet and tail to toes.
I built a fire under her spout
And then I milked the ice cream out.
I showed my invention to a millionaire
And now I live in vanity fair.
