Levremont Farm - We offer riding lessons, from beginners to ‘A’ circuit show level, with the emphasis on safety, horse-handling and management. While we are a show barn, we think our horses and riders benefit from a variety of experiences, including trailering to State Parks for trail rides and schooling over various cross-country courses.They also offer lessons from beginner to the more experienced riders to include every aspect of managing a horse. They board horses for a monthly fee, which includes turnout, feed, blanketing, and worming. They train ponies and horses. They have a hot water wash stall and stone dust ring. They offer riding lessons and have a program for young children. This farm is on 150 acres of open and wooded land with trails along the scenic James River.
Belmead Stables - Situated along the James River at St. Frances / St. Emma in historic Powhatan County you will find Belmead Stables & Riding Club. Consequently, as anyone who knows and loves the breed will tell you, the rest is history. We were hooked! Catalyst Driving Center - Catalyst Driving Center is an equine business specializing in carriage driving. Boarding and training are available for the horses, as well as, lessons on carriage driving by a United States Equestrian Team bronze medal winner. Manakintowne Growers - Manakintowne Specialty Growers is a family owned and operated farm in Powhatan County, Virginia. Since 1985, we have been growers and suppliers of fresh cut herbs, salad greens, micro greens, edible flowers and specialty vegetables for the best chefs and markets in Central Virginia. They grow in the field and in greenhouses year-round, using the methods of sustainable agriculture. Flint Hill Mini-Farm - Flint Hill Mini Farm started as a hobby farm to raise a goat. We went from finding a pet for our youngest daughter to having a full fledged mini-farm. We started this about 8 years ago. We have about 20 goats now - mostly mamas and baby girls. We had a very good spring birthing with 16 baby kids born. Hunting-Wildlife-Boating
Hunting and Fishing Powhatan Map - Powhatan's wildlife management area consists of a bass fishing pond as well as the Powhatan Lakes for great family fishing in Powhatan. Trails, creeks and wildlife are abundant. Only 22.5 miles from Richmond Virginia, the Powhatan wildlife management areas are a short drive for visitors.
Birding and Wildlife Trail - This area is great for wildlife such as short-eared owls, rusty blackbirds and horned larks. Birds and wildlife are abundant in Powhatan too.
Boating - Access - Powhatan is home to the James River Boat Landing better known as Maiden's Landing. It has a shallow boat ramp. Watkins Landing is a concrete boat ramp with deeper water in more central Powhatan off of route 711 (Robious Road-Huguenot Trail) Powhatan also has boat access at Powhatan Lakes which is catch and release only.
